The Upload Wizard allows you to set the start of the accounting period you are uploading to. Documents dated before this date will be updated so they are included in the required accounting period in your account package.
You can find this setting in Upload > Upload Wizard > Update document dates if dated prior to specified value (upload purposes only)
Note: This applies to integrations using file upload only. If your integration uses an API this feature may not be available.
For example, let's say you receive a document dated in the previous month, but that accounting period is already closed in your accounts package. By setting the date field to the first day of the current month, the system will automatically update the document's date to align with the current accounting period when you initiate the upload process.
It's important to note that this date adjustment is solely for upload purposes, ensuring the document is correctly posted within your current open accounting period. The original date will remain intact in SmartOffice. Documents dated after the specified date in the field will be uploaded without any changes to their dates in SmartOffice.
Please remember that this field only affects documents dated before the specified date; it does not include the specified date itself.
